When you join EMC, not only will you be able to participate in our many activities for moms and kids, but you and your child will both gain many opportunities for fun, friendship, and learning new things. You will also have the support of many other moms who are willing to share their time, advice, interests, and even a meal when your family adds a new member or hits a rough bump on the road of life.

In addition, membership will give you access to our two members-only websites:

• EastsideMothersClub.com (password-protected portion) offering:
  • An on-line calendar of all EMC events, including what, when, where, cost, and link to RSVP.
  • Monthly newsletters, featuring member spotlights, community information, results of member polls (such as “Best family restaurants” and “Best parks”), and more.
  • A sortable directory of all members, including photos of many.
  • A “Top Ten” list for getting the most benefit out of your EMC membership.
  • Lots and lots of information about how the Club works, and how you can help it work.
• Our Yahoo! Groups website lets members:
  • RSVP online for events.
  • Receive group emails from Club officers.
  • Send and reply to group emails requesting advice, advertising items for free/for sale, sharing recall information, promoting non-EMC activities, etc.

In addition to your annual dues, you will be expected to contribute in other ways to the operation of the Club. Think of us as a co-op: we are only as strong as our members make us. Depending on your situation and interests, you might choose to do set-up or clean-up for a party, host an event, buy/sell fundraising goodies, donate supplies, or take on the fun and challenge of a board position. Remember, volunteering is a great way to make new friends, feel like you’ve accomplished something in your day, and even keep your pre-child work skills sharp!
